How to register for PTE Express step by step

Registration runs through MyPTE at pteexpress.pearson.com. First confirm your target US university explicitly lists PTE Express as accepted, since this test is built for US admissions only.

Then create your MyPTE account and type your name exactly as it appears on the government photo ID or passport you will present. PTE Express

As preparation advice, run the in-app check at least 48 hours before test day. It verifies your webcam, built in microphone and speakers, operating system, and internet speed. Headphones and headsets of any kind are banned, so test with built in audio only. If the check fails, fix the problem and rerun it before you launch rather than hoping test day will be different. System check 48 hour checklist

Treat the system check as a rehearsal, not a formality. Use the same laptop, connection, and room you will use on test day. Verify the webcam shows your face clearly in good lighting, the built in microphone and speakers both work, and no headphones are connected. Set up your mobile phone as the secondary camera showing your hands, keyboard, and desk from the side, plugged into a charger and set to Do Not Disturb.

Clear the desk completely. No papers, books, pens or second monitor; use the phone only for the authorised camera. Close the door and tell everyone in the household to stay out for the full 60 minutes. Show your original accepted government photo ID through mobile-phone check-in.

Cancellation, expiry, and refund rules

Express is on demand, with no scheduled centre appointment. Purchased tests expire after 90 days. Refunds are generally not issued; check the current conditions before paying.
